Rudolph the Reindeer Clothespin Magnets!

Ready to paint!

For some reason, I have been making a lot of clothespin magnets lately. So even though I’m about done with clothespins (for a while anyway)…I decided to make a few more while I still had access to all of my supplies. Every year after Christmas I always hit the craft stores to see what deep discounts I can find. Well last year, I came across these adorable unfinished wood reindeer shapes. They came in packs of 20 and only cost $1.49. Of course, I snatched up every last pack I could find. I decided to hand paint some of the reindeer and glue them onto some red clothespins. These adorable Rudolph magnets would be a great way to hold a Christmas “to do” list or even a recipe!

Painting the reindeer!

The first thing I did was paint the reindeer. Trust me, you don’t have to be a great painter to make these guys look adorable. I simply chose some basic Americana paint colors and did a simple base-coat (please see pictures). Once the base-coat on each reindeer was dry, I added some simple shading and details (such as the red noses). Finally, I varnished each one and applied a small amount of glamour dust (I love that stuff!).

Done with the first step.

I think that my Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer clothespin magnets are so sweet. I plan on selling them at my next craft show. Hopefully, people will like them as much as I do! Well, that’s it for now! Please let me know if you have any questions! As always, thanks for stopping by and HAPPY CRAFTING!
